In addition: there is a small flyer inserted into the book for an Forderer exhibition in 2006, markings on the facing side and backside has a handwritten note by the artist's wife Ursula Forderer to Claudia Woodword, dated August 8, 2006, one month after her huband died. In addition, on the front flyleaf is a long inscription signed but I do not recognize the name, dated May 26, 1991 (or 1997). Both inscription are in German. Former owner's library book plate on the front paste-down page, otherwise, the book is free of markings, pages clean, no dust jacket. A new foreword was added to the "Boy's Edition" by Daniel Carter Beard, he begins by saying this: "the publication of Warpath and Cattle Trail is the realization of my dream. For years I have been waiting for soneone to write a convincing and accurate description o fthe cowboy's life on the old Chisholm Trail.". The Chisholm Trail was a trail used in the post-Civil War era to drive cattle overland from ranches in Texas to Kansas railheads.
