Description:
First edition, first printing, hardcover with dust jacket in archival cover. Condition is Fine: no markings, no flaws. A collectible book in like condition. Please see images of the book you will receive. Notes: Junior Army and Marine Corps officers died with stunning frequency in the Pacific so the Army came up with a 90 day program to replace them. These Marine SOCS graduates were actually "77 day wonders" because 90 was too long. This book follows 10 Marine graduates in various theaters.

Description:
Hardcover volume, 1887, London. Condition is Very Good: Boards show light general wear, some fading to spine. Binding is sound. Interior has no writing or markings of any kind. Some light foxing, rare smudges. Paginates: [1], iv, 179, 4 unpaginated plates. Author is arguing for the disestablishment of the Church of England in Wales. He does this by discussing the history of Wales and Druids. Book has much info on Druids and ancient Wales including some nice plates. Although labeled "Third Edition" this is actually the first, last and only edition. All 19th century copies are firsts. See generally WorldCat. Advertising this as "Third Edition" gives the appearance of strong sales and public interest and where were you when the first two editions were sold out. This dubious business practice makes for an interesting item. A collectible book in like condition. Please see images of the book you will receive. Notes: No date on title or copyright page of this or any other copy. The date is derived from…

Description:
1851 hardcover from Silas Andrus. Condition is Very Good. Black blindstamped cloth shows minimal wear but some small splits at base of spine starting. This does not compromise integrity of binding which remains sound. Endpapers have pencil note of prior bookseller, pencil note on last page, occasional foxing and stains throughout, and bookseller stamp of "Perry & Erety, Philadelphia." Paginates: blank, (1)-104, blank. Many engravings in text. Complete as issued. Small format. Overall better condition than usually seen. This edition: OCLC: 2665946. Please see images of the book you will receive. Notes: Bibliographically this book is difficult so bear with me. James Fenimore Cooper wrote "The Spy, A Tale of the Neutral Ground" in 1821; in 1828 H. L. Barnum wrote a biography of Enoch Crosby titled "The Spy Unmasked; Or, Memoirs of Enoch Crosby, Alias Harvey Birch, The Hero of Mr. Cooper's Tale of the Neutral Ground." In 1831 a juvenile version of this story was published anonymously with most likely…

Description:
First Australian edition, first printing, hardcover with dust jacket in archival cover. Angus & Robertson, 1965. Volume is very good - old price erasure front blank, bookseller's stamp front blank, no other interior markings, folds or problems. Shelf wear along bottom edges of boards. Dust jacket is good, not price clipped, moderate wear along creases, to corners and spine, complete. A scarce book especially in the US. Please sees scans of the book you will receive. Notes: This slim volume is underrated. It is a concise account of the players and the action and suggests some interesting ideas. Author provides some evidence that Christian had become mentally unwell. Less credibly she argues Midshipman Edward Young was the underhanded mastermind of the whole affair. However, at least two other authors (far more qualified than I) have written on this topic and found this plausible.

Description:
Hardcover, George Routledge, London, 1926. No dust jacket. Condition is very good minus. The primary condition issue is staining of the boards - looks like very old glue (not sticky). Spine sun faded. Interior is near fine. Pencil signature of prior owner and pencil note of library code (see scan). No other library markings or any other marks inside. Binding is sound. Although an older bibliography this volume has the "Dictionary" which gives a brief summary of every title (and much else) which is very helpful and not found in other bibliographies. See L. W. Currey p. 529 for more info. Please see scans of the book you will receive. Notes: Author published a prior bibliography which is substantially different but could be considered the true first (I have that listed for sale also). Feel free to inquire.
