Robey was a photographer active in London beginning in the 1890s. From about 1894 to about 1905 he was also active as a commercial photographer and printer with Eustace Curzon. They were among many photographers producing platinotypes, or platinum prints, around the turn of the century. "Platinogram" was the name given by Robey to these images made from platinotypes. An unsusual album from the late 1920s, photos of which are attached. It has 20 pages and 129 photocards with no writing or stamps on them, some with printed locations on the back, others blank. The photos are mostly of scenery and street and place scenes from Abbazia, Fiume, Postumia and other former Italian territories on the eastern shore of the Adriatic, today Croatia, Slovenia, etc. and from Salzburg, Hellbrunn, Worthersee and Villach in Austria. Acquired in situ during the 1930s and kept in the family since then.

Some lovely photos of the scenery, plus of Betty herself as a twelve year old. Also a class photo from Mt. Lebanon Junior Highschool, and the deed to her family's Mt. Lebanon home, from 1921.

Places include Grand Canyon, Los Angeles, Monterey, Laguna Beach, San Diego, Tijuana, San Francisco, Riverside, California missions, a few from Seattle and the Northwest. A handwritten journal accompanies the album, approximately 40 sides filled in neatly, by Anne R. Kane, of Race St. in Pittsburgh, probably in her twenties at the time. Journal is from June 21 to August 17. T'he high point is going to a movie premier and seeing Victor Mature, Claudette Colbert, Jack Benny, Bob Hope, Rosalind Russell, Ronald Reagan and many others.
