In 'As New" condition except for light soiling around cover edges and a name printed on top of the pages - only visible when the book is closed and does not spill over onto the pages face.. Unclipped dj ($10.00) has light soiling and wear at edges (small tears and nicks). XXVII + 483 pages.
Contains a 96 pages of water color painting - 32 pages in color - by Alfred Jacob Miller. The Foreword is an account of the discovery of the Miller collection by Mae Reed Porter. DeVoto's book on the mountain men is considered to be his best and most important book. The book was the winner of both the Pulitzer Prize and the Bancroft Prize.
