New Haven: Yale University Press, 1960. Second Printing. Large Octavo. 24cm. Publisher's dark blue cloth spine over mottled blue paper covered boards, titled and decorated in gilt to spine and front board. Dustjacket. 509pp. Clean and handsome, light bumping to spine ends and a little very slight wear to extremities, a very good, strong copy in a pictoial dustjacket with some fraying and a couple of closed tears to the upper edges and some dustiness to the white rear panel. Internally clean. Two ink inscriptions to the front flyleaf, one of which is signed "Bill" and is most likely authorial. Illustrated throughout with a 16pp. photographic section before the index and a sheaf of Explorer's Maps in a pocket secured to the rear pastedown. A study of the work and importance of the Army Corps of Topographical Engineers.
