About This Item

New York: G. P. Putnam's Sons, 1990. First edition. Cloth. Fine/Fine. 9.5" by 6". None. The first edition of this science fiction work, signed by Gregory Benford. First edition, first impression, with complete number line. Signed by Benford to the title page. Beyond the Fall of Night begins with the novella Against the Fall of Night, written as a novella by Clarke in 1948. The second half of the works acts as a sequel, written by Benford. The work is not related to Clarke's novel The City and The Stars that was considered a rewrite of Against the Fall of Night. Arthur C. Clarke was a British science fiction writer and inventor, who is widely regarded as a key figure in the popularisation of space travel. His screenplay for the 1968 film 2001: A Space Odyssey, which was co-written with Stanley Kubrick, is considered to be one of the most influential films of all time. For many years Arthur C. Clarke, along with Robert Heinlein and Isaac Asmiov, were considered the 'Big Three' of science fiction writing. In a quarter cloth binding in the original unclipped dustwrapper. Externally in excellent condition with just some slight wear to the head of the spine. Dustwrapper is in excellent condition with just some minor shelfwear to the extremities. Internally firmly bound. Pages bright and clean. Fine
