Housed in the publisher's red cloth slipcase, author's title in gilt on front panel. One of 350 numbered copies and fifty deluxe copies, this being number 231. Signed by the author on the limitation page. This is the final book in the Border Trilogy, preceded by All The Pretty Horses (1992) and The Crossing (1994). In addition to this trilogy, Cormac McCarthy's literary achievements include the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel "The Road," a haunting exploration of post-apocalyptic survival, and "Blood Meridian," a violent and poetic masterpiece set in the 19th-century American West. Cities of the Plain focuses on Parnham's doomed relationship with a young Mexican prostitute.
