Extended Description and Notes

Andre Laurie was a pseudonym of Jean Francois Paschal Grousset - 1844-1909. He was a French politician, journalist and science fiction writer. As well as Laurie he published under other pseudonyms - Philippe Daryl, Tiburce Moray and Leopold Virey. He collaborated with Jules Verne on three books who along with Laurie was "discovered" by publisher Pierre-Jules Hetzel." Les Exiles de la Terre" Selene Company Ltd 1887 translated as " The Conquest of the Moon : A Story of the Bayouda" 1889 is perhaps one of the most interesting not to say fanciful cosmic tales of all time. This is a rare copy of one of the early pioneers of science-fiction. A lovely addition to your library for any serious collector of this genre.
