New York, NY, USA: Grosset & Dunlap, 1940. 1st Edition 1st Impression. Hardcover. Good. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. Laune, Paul. First edition, first impression. 218pp, monochrome frontispiece, illustrated endpapers. In tan cloth-covered boards with brown titles front and spine, motif on front panel. Boards rubbed at edges and joints, rounded on corners and spine ends, mildly marked and perhaps a tad faded. Text block edges darkened. Endpapers have minor creasing, previous owner's name on front free endpaper; pencil notations on half-title and opposite, pages browned. A good, solid first edition copy of this Hardy Boys tale.
