At the end of the book is The Report of the State Committee of the USSR of investigation of circumstances of concentration-camp Oswiecim ( Auschwitz).

Eliazar (Eddy) de Wind (Den Haag, 6 februari 1916 – Amsterdam, 27 september 1987) was a Dutch doctor and psychiatrist of Jewish birth. De Wind was a surviver of the Holocaust in the concentration-camp Auschwitz in Poland.

Eddy de Wind went first to the deportation-camp Westerbork in the Netherlands as a volunteer to help the (Jewish) people that were transported from here to the concentration-camps in the east.

In the end he was deported himself to Auschwitz. He was a witness of the liberation of the camp by the Russians. On their request he stayed to take care of the sick victims of the Nazi horror.

In 1946 he published Eindstation Auschwitz, a detailed report of his time in the camp. It was written in the camp itself. Later in the Netherlands De Wind was one of the first who described the KZ-syndrome and the transgeneration traumatising.
