About This Item
Joseph Skelton, Oxford, England, 1830. First edition, two volumes. Full leather with gilt decoration around edges and on spine, five raised bands, marbled endpapers. Originally owned by Thomas M. Lowndes, his bookplate is on inside front cover. Some mild rubbing wear along edges, light scratching to top and bottom gilt page edges. Light foxing inside, pages clean. There are 73 plates in Volume I and 77 plates in Volume II. These volumes have been in the same family for three generations. Additional photos available upon request. Rare in this condition and binding.
