Michael Joseph, 1938. Hardcover. Very Good. A first edition, first printing published by Michael Joseph in 1938. A very good+ book without inscriptions - some light spotting to the page edges. SIGNED on the rare Rex Whistler designed Book Society plate to the front endpaper by Forester. In a very good unclipped wrapper with some light loss to the spine tips and a little corners - Spine browned as usual. Rare with the SIGNED bookplate.
Synopsis
Flying Colours is a Horatio Hornblower novel by C.S. Forester, originally published 1938 as the third in the series, but now eighth by internal chronology. It describes the adventures of Hornblower and his companions escaping from imprisonment in Napoleonic France and returning to England.
