We photograph every item. jacket is split at spine, several chips and tears. edge wear to boards; Murdock had as soft a job as a photographer could ever hope for: all he had to do was to go down to the home of Ted Bernard, the radio comedian, and get some shots of him and his week-end guest, Irene Alexander, who was still one of America's movie sweethearts. But when Murdock got there he found that the owner of the place had a body-guard, that one of the guests was a gangster who could play a hot piano, and that all the women were strangely jittery.... the next morning the actress's nude body was found in her bedroom - and Murdock was one of the chief suspects.
