Pall Mall Press, London, 1970, first UK edition and drawing on n "Die Maler des grossen Lichtes" published in 1967 by Hans Platte; small folio, 220 x 300mm; pp 191; profusely illustrated with both monochrome in-text images and 80 full page plates in colour; yellow buckram boards with a pictorial dust wrapper showing a Renoir painting; the book has a neat annotation in green in on one page and the wrapper has a small triangular tear and some scuffing but both it and the book itself are in good condition. The author is an academic art historian teaching in the US.
