Published London: Metheun, 1927 and 1934. 4to., 8" x 10", xvi + 419pp; xvi, + 421pp., each volume illustrated with frontis, portraits, plates (some color) and maps (some folding). Bound in 3/4 black morocco with gilt titles and crest over dark green cloth, top edge gilting. Mild foxing on front edge of page block, some fade to the cloth of volume one, with a small nick to the cloth on rear, else a very good, attractive set. Pages and plates clean and bright. . 1st. Leather. Very Good/No Jacket. 4to.
