About This Item

London : Methuen & Co., (1928). First edition. "One day when Pooh Bear had nothing else to do, he thought he would do something, so he went round to Piglet's house to see what Piglet was doing". Illustrations, endpapers, and cover-design by the inimitable Ernest H. Shepard. Crown 8vo (20cm). (xii),(180)pp. Original pink cloth, ruled, blocked, and lettered in gilt; top edge gilt; just a touch dulled; some very mild rubbing and wear to extremities; faint tanning of endpapers; slight spotting of edges; a few minor internal marks and tiny flaws, but overall still a very good copy.

Synopsis

The House at Pooh Corner (1928) is the second volume of stories about Winnie-the-Pooh, written by A. A. Milne and illustrated by E. H. Shepard. It is notable for the introduction of the character Tigger, who went on to become a prominent figure in the Disney Winnie the Pooh franchise. The title comes from a story in which Winnie-the-Pooh and Piglet build a house for Eeyore. In another story the game of Poohsticks is invented.
