Beautifully illustrated Edition in B&W. All MainText pages have text within large Illustrated Borders, also inset illustrations. Translated from the Latin by W. Benham, Vicar of Margate. Period Black Full-Leather binding with large Red & Gilt central cross on front and bright Gilt devices in corners on front & back. 5 raised bands to spine with bright Gilt foliate motif in compartments and Gilt title on brown ground. Beveled edges. Marbled endpapers. All page edges Gilt. Fine Gilt decoration on board edges.
Gift inscription on fly leaf dated 1876. No other inscriptions, pages in very good, clean condition. Splits to leather down sides of spine, wear at edges of corners and some rubbing to spine. Very small piece of leather missing at top corner of spine. Hinges broken but text block firm.
