This, the first English translation of The Jargon, by Jordan Herbert Stabler, B.A., printed for Houghton Mifflin Company at The Riverside Press, Cambridge, Massachusetts, consists of three hundred and eighty-five copies of which three hundred and fifty are for sale. This no. 158, October, 1918. Bound in beige paper over boards, moderate rubbing to tips, extremities, abraded paper label to spine. From the title page, "The Jargon of Master Francois Villon, Clerk of Paris A.D. MCCCCLII, being seven ballads from the thieves' argot of the XVth Century. Fine black-and-white engraved illustrations at frontis, title page, including a historiated initial. 42 pp. and printed on fine paper.Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards. Additional postage may be required for oversize or especially heavy volumes, and for sets.
