Owner's neat name and address on free front endpaper; small bookseller label on front pastedown; covers rubbed at head and tail of spine. A very good first and scarce Australian printing. Printed by The Specialty Press in October 1914. Originally published in America by Charles Scribner's in April 1914, the novel is about a fictional war in Europe prior to the start of the First World War. The previous owner was Edmund Tom Webb who was a Victorian pioneer and Mayor of the Victorian town of Bathurst.
