Hardcover. Very Good. First US edition of his first book. Author's edition on verso. Some copies have ads on eps. This is the state with plain eps. Spine is soiled and crown of spine has some edge wear. Front and rear boards have faded some. Eps have tanning but book is otherwise internally clean. Front fly-leaf has small chip to upper right hand corner. Rear eps has some cracking at gutter but book is bound quite solidly. Small bookstore stamp on inside of front board.

A fine, three-volume set of the works of Moliere published in the late 19th-century. This 1883 English edition was published in London and features introductory and notes by Charles Wall of Brighton College. Like other complete works of Moliere, this example includes his most famous works such as The Misanthrope, Tartuffe, the Impostor, and Don Juan.
First volume has a B&W illustration of Moliere at the title page.
Books are in Fine/Great condition! Just slight wear/staining on the covers. Corners are bumped a bit. Interiors are in Great condition! Really a lovely set and in Fantastic condition for being over 130 years old!

This set of four books was privately printed for members of London's Casanova Society in 1923. The Casanova Society's brief existence lasted from 1922 - 1926, and this was their second publication.This is a Limited Edition. Sets numbered 1 to 750 were of sixteen volumes, and sets numbered 751 to 2250 were of four volumes. The set being offered for sale here is Set #844, complete in four volumes. The set is in good condition with some rubbing at the edges, corners and hinges, and occasional spotting. Each volume is numbered - 844 - which shows a complete original set. Each of the volumes is signed on the title page by Ellsworth Fleming of the Casanova Society, and each is also signed by Fleming again on the following page which describes the publication of the volumes. This set will provide many long evenings of enjoyable reading, and will make a fine addition to your library of classic literature. This scarce offprint was issued to correct the mis-printings to the text of the article that had just appeared in the first issue of the magazine "transition." (Wilson A10). Stein insisted on the printing of this supplementary pamphlet, but only enough copies to supply subscribers were printed; these were laid-in to copies of the first printing of the magazine issue.
