Red boards are quite worn and scuffed, the edges are bare, corners rounded, the surface worn, blue cloth spine is worn to threads at head/tail of spine, remnants of sticker in middle of spine, text remains quite readable. Pen name on front endpaper. Some spotting on bottom edge first few pages, embossed seal on title page, paper is tanned, front hinge weak. John Davis fought in the Revolution, was a captain the War of 1812, served in the House of Representatives and served as Surveyor of the Port of Philadelphia.
