Hardcover. Two-volume biographies of authors John Donne, Henry Wotton, Richard Hooker, George Herbert, and Robert Sanderson. Originally published in England in the 17th century, this compilation of Walton's literary biographies is the first American edition. It was published as Volumes V and VI of the publisher's Library of the Old English Prose Writers. Blue cloth with printed paper spine labels. Each volume has a woodcut title page vignette of older man reading by candlelight. xcvi, 224pp; 336pp. First volume contains editor's preface by Alexander Young and lengthy introduction to the life and works of Izaak Walton. ; Ex-Library; 8vo 8" - 9" tall .
