About This Item

Alfred A. Knopf, 1952. 2nd Edition 1st Printing. Hardcover. Near Fine/Very Good. John Alan Maxwell. 1952 2nd omnibus edition (first was in 1934 by Knopf) completely reset and printed from new plates. This edition has the attractive pictorial dj art by Maxwell unlike the 1934 edition which has no artwork on cover. Both editions are very hard to find especially in condition and with the dust jacket present. This copy is in Near Fine condition and the jacket (in a protector) is Very Good or better - a very bright example! Historical fiction - epic based on Norway. Undset won the Nobel prize in literature for this work and the Kristin Lavransdatter stories.
