VG+. 1st Uk Edition. 355 pp, 3 large fold-out maps VG+, frontispiece with tissue-guard and 32 B&W photographs. British expedition led by Howard-Bury to north side of Everest, eventually reached the North Col to open the way for subsequent attempts on the North ridge. A classic account of this early Mount Everest mountaineering expedition that walked from Darjeeling into Tibet, with a team including George Mallory, almost no foxing, clean and tight inside, rubbed edges to original blue boards, gilt titles, one bumped corner, overall VG. Previous owner's signature and stamp fep.
