About This Item

New York: L. & C. Mayers Co, 1917. Wraps. Very Good. 2-49, [2], 50-61, [6] pages plus advertisements on front and rear leaves. 11 5/8 x 8 5/8 inches. Original light yellow printed wrappers, stapled. Light overall soiling, occasional penciled notations. Profusely illustrated, mostly in black and white. The leaf before page 50 is a glossy toned insert for HAVONE cigarette cases. Pages 50-61 consist of a glossy monochrome section for Oneida Community plate items. Pages in the rear are ordering sheets and additional items not in the regular catalog. Given the differences in production values, it is apparent that the separate sections were printed separately and then stapled together, the whole enclosed in thin paper covers. Wraps. An interesting wholesale catalog with Diamonds, Watches, Solid Gold Jewelry, Sterling Silverware, Silver Plated Ware, Py-ra-lin Ivory, Leather Goods, Mahogany Goods, Ivory Bronze, Clocks, Phonographs, etc. (per front cover text). Inset of Statue of Liberty on front cover. Very well illustrated, perfect for the dealer trying to decide what to carry in their inventory. Illustration quality varies from glossy "high touch" (Oneida section) to halftone images on near newsprint quality paper.

An interesting catalogue both from a production and visual standpoint. While the cover notes sterling silverware, the catalog only illustrates silver plate ware. Some accessories such as toilet sets and other items are sterling.

Scarce, with OCLC recording a single copy of this supplement at Hagley and a handful of other issues.
