In the publisher's original cloth with the original clipped dust wrapper. Illustrated with monochrome vignettes by C. F. Tunnicliffe. This work was written by Alison Uttley, best known for her children's series about a 'Little Gray Rabbit', and contains a collection of essays about her early years as a science teacher in London before the war. The work also includes her lecture on English poet and author, Walter De La Mare. In the publisher's original cloth with the original clipped dust wrapper. Externally lovely. An unnamed bookplate to the front free endpaper and very minimal offsetting to the front and rear free endpaper. The wrap is excellent with sunning to the spine and the odd slight mark.
