Galileo Galilei's telescopic observations marked a defining moment in the Renaissance departure from ancient cosmology, as they provided experimental verification to the heliocentric theory of Copernicus. In this book, Galileo reported his earthshaking findings in vivid, immediate terms and lucid diagrams.
