Boston & New York: Houghton Mifflin Co. / The Riverside Press, Cambridge, 1913. Autograph Edition. 3/4 Leather. The first 17 volumes only of the 23 eventually published. This is the "Autograph Edition" limited to 750 sets, signed by John Burroughs and the publisher in volume I: "Wake Robin. This is set number 149/750, numbered in each volume. 23 x 15.5 cm. Bound into 3/4 red leather, gilt spine lettering, 5 raised bands to spines. TEG. Illustrated with plates in each volume, some color. Decorative red endpapers matching the covers. Ribbons.The condition of the books range from good to fine and the bindings show varying degrees of wear. What follows is a description of the moderate the large flaws. Unfortunately, volume I (the signed volume) has seen some rough treatment showing bumping, scratching and some tears to the leather itself as well as the top foredge. Gouge to the spine of volume II. Volume XV & XVI show several gouges to their front covers. Bindings are still tight and holding. Interiors clean.
