London: De l'imprimerie de Vogel et Schulze, 1811 Book. Good. Disbound. xvi, 413, [1]; vii, [i], 352, 351-368 pages. Slight blip in pagination in vol 2 where page numbers 351 and 352 are duplicated. In the remains of what is probably the original full leather, but now all boards detached and all very worn - so effectively disbound. Horrible old tape loosely holding the boards on the end papers of vol 1. Small ink stain to the title page of vol 1. Spotting throughout. Uncommon first edition of this work which was not published in English until 1825/1830.

Andoversford: The Whittington Press, 1982 Book. Very Good. Hardcover. [xii], 83, [5] pages. Numbered 47 of the 95 copies quarter bound in vellum of the total of 320 copies printed. 50 specimen pages mounted on brown paper at the rear. Although not stated this is the copy which belonged to Alan and Joan Tucker who are on the list of subscribers at the rear of the volume. Pages are top edges gilt. With the paper covered slipcase, although this has some wear to the paper. A large and heavy volume, extra postage will be required to send it outside the UK..

Coloniae Agrippinae - Cologne: Sumptibus Hermanni Demen, 1687 Book. Good. Full vellum. [52], 738; [8], 82, 93-276, [206] pages. Pagination erratic in places. Vol 1 - page numbers 367/8 repeated. Vol 2 page numbers 234/5 repeated. But complete, also with the final blank leaf to vol 2.. With the additional engraved allegorical title page and the 34 engraved vignettes in the text. Paper repair to the upper outer corner of pages 403/4 affecting the page number. Some browning and occasional spotting. A few pages creased. Bookplate removed from the front pastedown. Old ink number to the front free end paper - 2001. In old blindstamped pigskin which is worn and soiled. Head of the spine very worn. A few ink underlinings. A very heavy volume, extra postage may be required to send it outside the UK..

Strassburg: Samuel Emmel, 1556 Book. Good. Full vellum. [12], ccclxxxvi, [18]; [12], clxxxiii, [8] leaves. Browning and staining throughout. Some ink lines and a few marginal notes. Old owners' names to the title page. Leaf xcviii has a tear to the margin which affects a printed side note, some other tears to margins and corners, but not affecting the text. Title written in ink to the fore edge of the text block. Bound in modern full vellum which is not lettered. Vellum is soiled. Pages at the rear are frayed at the edges- there are paper repairs to the edges of the final 6 leaves. Remains of old paper tabs to the fore edges of some pages. Text in German throughout. A heavy volume, extra postage may be required to send outside the UK..

Lyon: Benoit Bonyn, 1544 Book. Fair. Full leather. [24], ccviii leaves. Title printed in red and black. The final leaf of the prelims is blank which matches a digitised version of the 1542 edition available online. Damp staining and browning throughout. Leaves towards the rear are slightly softer towards the centre of the outer edge, having been affected by damp at some point in the past. Final leaf more heavily affected. Tissue repairs to tears to the final leaf. Dated 1542 to the colophon. Rebound in modern full leather by Temple Bindery - light creasing to the lettering label. A couple of worm holes to the title page. Some other occasional worming to the margins. Ink owner's name to the foot of the title page. Titled Balbus in old ink to the lower edge of the text block. Deals with property laws. Text in Latin throughout..

[viii], 179, [3] pages + tipped in samples and plates, followed by 42 sample pages tipped in at the rear.Numbered 7 of the 80 copies bound in quarter vellum. The total edition was 380. With the slipcase, just light signs of use. A heavy volume, extra postage will be required to send it outside the UK..

With the paper covered slipcase, although this has tears and marks to the paper. Loosely inserted is a typed letter signed by John Randle, a compliments slip and printed list of titles available at the time of going to press. Madrid: En la Imprenta del Reyno, 1629 Book. Good. Full leather. Engraved title page followed by 5 un-numbered leaves, 455 numbered leaves and 11 leaves of index. Some worming at the start and finish. Folios 174 and 171 transposed. Staining to upper margins of pages throughout. Folio 387 torn at the corner, just into the text. Folio 401 the same. Folio 392 very long closed tear through the text - old paper repairs holding it in. Lower outer corners of the index leaves have been torn away, but with no loss of text. Apparently folios 265 and 266 are sometimes removed follwing an order of the Consejo de Castilla in 1747, both though are present here. Old full leather, worn and with damage to the spine. More modern marbled end papers..

Madrid: Franc. Martinez, 1633 Book. Fair. Soft cover. [viii], 363, [1], 24, [24] pages + engraved title page and three plates. Here without the half title page. Damage to the engraved title page - trimmed along the foot cropping the imprint and also with the loss of the lower inner corner, section torn from the head of the page also. In old creased limp vellum, section torn from the spine. Remains of old ties. Some staining to pages at the rear. Ink notes to the front inner cover..

Milan: nella reg. duc. corte, per Gio. Battista, & Giulio Cesare fratelli Malatesta Stampatori, 1648 Book. Good. Full leather. [xvi], 296, 293-402 pages. Undated, but library catalogues give 1648 as the date of publication. Some worm holes to a rear free end paper and pages 399-402. SMall hole to the title page. Some light staining to some pages. In modern full leather which is marked and also has wear to the edges. This, the first part, was all that was published..

Stratford upon Avon: Printed and sold by J. Ward, 1817 Book. Good. Full leather. Vol 3, the Appendix was published in 1821 by Longman. Pagination Vol 1 - [iv], ix, [i], 361, [1] pages + 3 plates. Vol 2 - [iv], [363]-795, [1] pages + 5 plates but plate facing page 692 duplicates that facing page 573. Vol 3 - xiv, [ii], 333, [vi], 336-575, [1] pages +30 plates. All bound in attractive full leather, creasing to the spine of vol 3. Some light wear. Ink owner's name to the front free end paper in each volume. Lacks one plate due to the duplication in vol 2..

London: Printed by T.R. and E.M. for John Bellamie and are to be sold at his shop at the three golden Lyons in Corn-hil neer the R. Exchange, 1650 Book. Good. Full leather. [xvi], 374, [2], 32, 35-58, 61-76, 83-234, 239-334. ESTC R34664 which has matching pagination. Ink owner's name to the head of page iii - Will: Aspinwall his book bought July 6 1659 ptium 8s. Old owner's book label to the front pastedown - T. Rain. Old full leather binding, spine creased and lettering label chipped. Some tape marks to the front free end paper. Ink corrections of various dates throughout. Pages browned throughout, heavily in places. Title page soiled..

Coventry: John Jones, facing the Cross, 1765 Book. Good. Full leather. [xii], 812, [10] pages + maps and plates complete as listed. The only part that was missing was the verso of the plate facing page 722 - however a complete plate is now loosely inserted. Repairs to a few pages, some plates laid down on more modern paper including the frontispiece and title page, Kineton hundred map. Plates between pages 68/69 are window mounted. Light browning to page edges some spotting. In old full leather boards, spine replaced. Boards and in particular the corners are very worn. End papers also replaced - modern bookplate of Nicholas Wall QC to the front pastedown. Old bookplate to a font free end paper - E Phillips 1839. Some page edges a little frayed. Extra illsutrated with about 20 19th century prints and a few very small drawings of coats of arms. Rome: In aedibus Populi Romani, 1675 Book. Good. Full leather. 34, 254, 257-488, 475-543, [43] pages. Book label of Minto to the front pastedown with old shelf mark - Scotorum z 3. Originally published in 1578, this edition Rome 1675. Pages 541/2 misnumbered as 551/2. Erratic pagination matches other copies online. Full page genealogies included in the pagination. In old worn full leather, joints split but holding with cords. Light browning to pages throughout, some offsetting and other browning caused by the genealogies..

Cirencester: Samuel Rudder, 1779 Book. Very Good. Full-Leather. Folio - over 12" - 15" tall. x, 885, [1], lxviii p + 16 plates + folding map. Some offsetting to the title page from the folded map which forms the frontis to the volume. Plate of Pen Park Hole has offset onto the facing page . ESTC T8041. Old leather covered boards with a neat replacement spine. Occasional spotting and browning. Some of the plates are lightly browned down the centre folds where they are glued to a paper stub.
