Description:
Rare compilation of the works of Jane Austen in two kid leather bound editions published 1903 by T. Nelson and Sons, London, Edinburgh and New York.
Ultra fine paper, soft leather covers with embossed spines. Books are in generally good to very good condition, one has a previous owners name on inner page. Both volumes contain the original silk bookmark but one is unsecured.
Soft leather covers have aged well with minimal wear evident at upper and lower ends of the spines. Pages have a gold finish to top edge.
A genuine collector's set.

Description:
It's not ofter that you find two original volumes published / printed in 1726. Overall, these titles are in V Good condition and 100% legible ( albeit with Olde English spelling ) The titles are leather bound (spines and corners) with printed board covers.
A previous owner has pasted additional pages at the start of Volume 1 and pasted various newspaper clippings and hand written texts relevant to the themes of Mr Toland dated through the 1800's further enhancing the value of the set.
John Toland (30 November 1670 – 11 March 1722) was an Irish rationalist philosopher and freethinker, and occasional satirist, who wrote numerous books and pamphlets on political philosophy and philosophy of religion. Born in Ireland, he was educated at the universities of Glasgow, Edinburgh, Leiden and and was influenced by the philosophy of John Locke.

Hardcover. Overall Condition: G – to G. Second edition. Small octavo. (xxxix) 255pp. + 24pp. of the original publisher's ads at the rear. Blue-green cloth boards with blind stamped motifs on the front cover and gilt lettering on the spine. Publisher's ads at interior covers. What appears to be a previous owner's name stamp appears at lower edge of title page (refer pic). The publication is the second edition of the Arnold's second collection of poems which was originally published the previous year. The book contains some of Arnold best known work including "Sorab and Rustum" and Tristram and Iseult". The book retains the original front and back covers and spine is firm. Covers stained and smudged, with some light bumping along the corners. Interior with minor age toning to the pages and occasional dust stains. Binding in good, interior in good- condition overall.

Please refer images, book is in acceptable to good condition with some staining to front cover. Embossing remains intact. Pages have mellowed with age but book remains intact unmarked throughout and 100% legible.
