A children's book on the Berlin Airlift and the story of LT. Gail Halvorsen of the US Air Force who started the Chocolate Drop over divided Berlin in his plane called The Chocolate Flier. To start he made parachutes and candy bundles and dropped them only from his plane after doing his real mission in the Berlin Airlift of dropping critical supplies of food, medicine, coal, and oil. This eventually grew as more planes did the same thing, then the British joined in too, and soon candy was flowing from people in the US and candy manufacturers. Candy, gum and chocolate rained on the children of Berlin. A clean pristine copy.
