These wares were first made in the same Jingdezhen kilns that produced blue and white porcelain during the Jiajing period (1522-1566), although there is evidence that suggests their production continued in China, well into the reign of Wanli (1572-1620), and that they were also produced in Zhangzhou kilns in the Fujian province.
