Bev Shaffer is a chef, culinary instructor, and author, and has been a fixture on public television networks for years. She is the recipient of two International Culinary Writing Fellowships, was chef in residence for vanilla.com, and was featured in Chocolatier magazine for her Double Chocolate Raspberry Tart.
Brownies in hand, Schaffer presented a Winter Comfort Food Workshop at the James Beard House in New York City and served as a featured guest speaker at the Natural History of Chocolate and the Natural History of Sugar events at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History. As a chef with Vitamix, she specializes in recipe development and education. Her blog, featuring kitchen gadgets and culinary necessities, is aptly named Gadget Freak.
As a member of the International Association of Culinary Professionals, Chefs Collaborative, Women Chefs and Restaurateurs, and a founding member and president of Les Dames d'Escoffier-Cleveland-Northeastern Ohio Chapter, Shaffer has championed the cause of food education. She is the author of Chocolate Desserts to Die For!, Cakes to Die For!, Cookies to Die For!, and Mustard Seed Market and Caf�1/2 Natural Foods Cookbook, all available from Pelican. Shaffer lives and bakes in Ohio.
