Presenting this anthology of short stories by noted American author, Samuel Langhorne Clemens, or better known by his penname, Mark Twain.Including 'The £1,000,000 Bank Note', 'Mental Telegraphy', 'A Cure for the Blues', 'A Petition to the Queen of England', and more. Mark Twain (1835-1910) was an American writer, humourist, entrepreneur, publisher, and lecturer. He was lauded as the greatest humourist the United States has produced, and William Faulkner called him 'the father of American literature'. His most well-known works are 'Adventures of Huckleberry Finn' and 'The Adventures of Tom Sawyer'. This work contains the ink signature of a previous owner to the front pastedown: 'J.L. Dells'. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, some bumping to head and tail of spine and extremities. Slight sunning to the spine and the odd mark to the boards. Previous owner's ink signature to the front free-endpaper. Internally, hinges are strained but firm. Binding is tender in places, and slightly loose from page 65 to 80. Pages are bright and clean.
