Map illustrated end pages, both different, the front end pages show a map of Europe and northern Africa and the rear end page shows Pacific Islands, Australia and south-east Asia. The text is illustrated with numerous black-and-white historic photographs. Black coloured boards with gilt coloured titles to the back strip. Photographic dustwrapper white and red coloured titles to the front panel and back strip. "Air Power at Sea highlights the part aircraft played in all great actions of the war (World War II): in the long and bitter struggle against the Atlantic U-boats, in the daring night attack on Italian battle fleet at Taranto, the pursuit and destruction of the Bismarck, the blood and sacrifices of Norway, Crete and Guadalcanal, Pearl Harbor, the fate of the Prince of Wales and Repulse, the defence of Malta, the life-and-death of the Tripitz, the crucial battles of the Coal Sea and Midway, and in the great Allied advanced across the remote islands of the Pacific."  from front fold over panel blurb. Softening and rubbing of the back strip edges a very slight cock of the spine. Bumping to the lower book corners  the underlying board is visible. Light browning of the text block edges and age toning of the pages. Remnants of a sticker to the top right-hand corner of the free front end page. Chipping of the dustwrapper corners and to the back strip edges. Rubbing to all edges of the dustwrapper and a little to the panels. Fading along the fold over edges and to the back strip.
