About This Item

New York: Alfred A. Knopf, Inc, 1973. First Edition. Hardcover with Dust Jacket. Fine/Very Good+. 4to. Pp. 400. Illustrated with black & white and color photo reproductions. With index. Natural linen backstrip over maroon cloth covered boards, titles stamped in blind on the covers and in gilt on the spine, endpaper maps: leaf edges minimally toned, binding tight. In the color photo illustrated laminated dust jacket with price $15 intact on the front flap, business card of Henry B. King, President of the United States Brewers Association Inc. stapled to the flap: edges minimally toned and rubbed. This copy presented to longtime Washington State Senator Warren G. Magnuson and features his embossed gold seal on the front free endpaper - "President Pro Tempore" - when he was third in line for the presidency.

Perhaps most notable is a fact about Henry King, who served as President of the United States Brewers Association 1962-1983 and it's renamed incarnation, Brewers Association of America, from 1991-1999: He produced 17 children.

Dust jacket is now housed in a removable, clear archival sleeve.
