The Trustees The Aloes of South Africa Book Fund., 1950. Inscribed by author on the title page and half-title page, 15 years apart. Tracing the history of the discovery of aloes against a background of the early exploration of the Cape and areas further afield. Includes 77 coloured illustrations. An area of the half-title page with part of inscription has been cut out. Discolouration marks from old cellotape used to affix the cut-outpiece. Clear cellotape used at the gutter to reinforce long split. Thumbing. 1st Edition. Condition: Fair to good-. Dust jacket: Fair to good. Some cockling. Folds, header and footer reinforced with clear cellotape on the verso. Binding: Hardcover. Sunning and toning to spine. Discolouration marks to boards. Edge-wear to extremities. Bumping to corners.
