About This Item
W. H. & L. Collingrade Limited. Very Good/Fair. 1961. Hard Cover. Sm 4to Dust jacket tears and loss to edges, unclipped. Original cloth boards with bright gilt titling. No ownership marks. Numerous illustrations. 128 pages clean and tight. Most gardeners like to design their own gardens or, if they take over a ready made garden, they usually wish to alter it in some way. The desire to plan is there but so often they lack ideas, or perhaps they know that they want a rock garden, a pool, a lawn and some shrubs but they cannot visualize a suitable layout. This book is packed with ideas and the excellent perspective drawings which accompany the plans give the reader a picture of the finished designs. There are, too, many designs for such features as arches, screens, gates, sundials, steps, paving, paths and garden seats from which to choose. Lists of selected plants for various purposes have been included and also many unusual plants are illustrated to help the reader with his choice of material. Whatever type of garden is required, whether it is a small town garden, a neat suburban one or a woodland garden for a country house, the reader is sure to find a selection of appropriate designs in this very diverse collection. .
