About This Item
Washington, D.C: Gales & Seaton, 1834. First Edition. Hardcover. Good. Folio - over 12 - 15" tall. A perfectly serviceable reference copy; nothing fancy, but complete and still fairly sturdy, with cracked boards (back board separated but intact), marbled endpapers, same marbled papers over boards, leather-backed . Ex-library, but only minimally so, there being a faint white call number at spine bottom, and with neither underlining nor highlighting anywhere. Massively heavy, oversized volume. Occasional smudging to or crimping of pages, else, tightly bound, clean and unmarked of interiors. Age-toning to endpapers but markedly less to remaining text-block. ix + 895 + lxii pages including Index. The American State Papers remain an indispensable guide for U.S. historians. The interior here is still remarkably bright and accessible.Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards. Additional postage may be required for oversize or especially heavy volumes, and for sets.
