Synopsis

Edward Gorey was a master of gothic art and poetry. His Edwardian and Victorian influenced limericks and verse are light-hearted, yet tragic and over the top with dreadful comic mishaps, as illustrated in one of the stories included, The Gashlycrumb Tinies: "A is for Amy who fell down the stairs / B is for Basil assaulted by bears / C is for Clara who wasted away ..."
