Washington: Government Printing Office, 1897. Full-Leather. Good. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. Full leather binding with red, green and black leather title labels. Rubbing and some cracking around the spine- hinges secure. The pages are toned. A few minor fore-edge chips to the endpapers. With 2 large folding maps of the United States (loose- pocket has come apart at the rear); both 80.8 by 52.5 cm including margins- map of the progress of topographical surveys and locations of gaging stations (bright- no tears) and map of progress of astronomical location, primary triangulation and traverse & precise levelling (the map is bright- it has toning down one fold which is neatly strengthened down that fold with low visibility clear archival tissue on the reverse). Pages; 440, IX, (3).
