Top board of volumes one and three slightly bowed; hint of edgewear to jacket at the head of the spine on volumes I and II and lower corner of top cover Vol I; small smudge to ffep of Vol I; previous owner name in b.p.to tail of each ffep (near the gutter); the spines of the jackets are slightly sunned.

Sir Edwin Landseer Lutyens OM KCIE PRA FRIBA (1869 - 1944) was an English architect known for imaginatively adapting traditional architectural styles to the requirements of his era. He designed many English country houses, war memorials and public buildings, and stands alongside Christopher Wren as one of England's greatest architects. Lutyens' prolific output was first edited and published a decade after his death by which time his designs appeared "old fashioned" to the public. By 1984 public taste had changed once more and Lutyens work was considered worthy of this (monumental) limited edition reprint.
