Philadelphia: Childs and Peterson, 1856. Hardcover. Octavo, two volumes. In Good condition. Bound in the publisher's dark brown cloth bearing gilt lettering to the spines. Boards show moderate plus wear including some fraying to the edges and rubbing to the joints with whitish scuffing to the fronts/rears. Blind-embossed borders and decorations to the front and rear boards. Text blocks have age toned edges. Frontispiece with tissue guard. Previous owner's name to flyleaf to both volumes. Slight, sparse foxing, soiling and offsetting interiorly, including damp staining to the tail edge to volume one. Cracked front hinge to volume two and slight damp staining to the head edge and gutters to few first pages, as is. Illustrated. NOTE: Shelved in Netdesk Column D, ND-D.
