Acknowledgements, preface by author, notes on the artists' entries, list of abbreviations, bibliography. Illustrated and pages, both different, showing sketches of the various artists from Northumbria and Durham. At the rear of the book there, as noted, are 32 pages of black-and-white reproductions of various artists work. Dark blue coloured boards with gilt coloured titles to the backstrip. Illustrated dustwrapper, with a gilt coloured background, with black coloured titles to the front panel and backstrip. The first in a series of books detailing artists from various counties of England, this being the artists of Northumbria and Durham. Softening and rubbing of the backstrip edges; bumping of the book corners with some rubbing also present. Age toning of the textblock edges. Chipping of the dustwrapper corners and rubbing of the panels. There is a 5 inch tear to the top left-hand corner of the front panel, with associated creasing. Some tears to the dustwrapper edges and rubbing along the fold over creases. Size: 4to 9¾" - 12" tall. [5], 6 - 72 [32  reproductions of artwork] pages,. Please refer to accompanying picture (s).
