About This Item
London: Jackdaw Publications, 1967. First Edition. First edition. Signed by Len Deighton on both the Contents booklet and a small note on his stationary: "1st Mar '88 Dear Phil Thanks for writing. I have great pleasure in signing the Jackdaw. Seeing it again brought back memories of long ago[.] With every good wish, Len Deighton P.S. Yes I agree. The death is still surrounded in mystery." The acclaimed spy novelist was a co-author of this rare collection of historical documents and information about the 1963 assassination of John F. Kennedy arranged in a folder for nonlinear perusal and careful consideration. This was the odd format of the publisher's books; it was an experimental offshoot of Jonathan Cape.
All documents present and in Near Fine shape overall. Light wear, a few of the punch-out buildings for Dealey Plaza are detached and laid into their diecut holes, one staple of folder loose. Scarce signed, especially by the best-known contributor.
