About This Item
Chicago: Rand McNally & Company, 1922. Hardcover. xviii, 381p. plus publisher's menu, presswork on glazed alkaline paperstock, illustrated with profuse captioned b&w site and portrait photos throughout a running text, front endsheets occupied by a doublespread Rand McNally map of Oceania, in colors. Hardbound in 9x6 inch dark green cloth boards gilt, top edge gilded, a small but massive item. Frontis portrait of Boyce is halfway detached, but in all other respects is sound, clean, free of any markings. In this period a number of books attest a deep curiosity between America and Australia, and equally strong commercial interests.
