On the visit to North Korea by the author, also known as Father Matthew Ko Chong Ok, in 1984. He met with representatives of the Christian community in Pyongyang, pictured dutifully wearing their Kim Il Sung pins. Father Ko received much of his Catholic education in Canada but was at this time based in Los Angeles.

San Francisco: Harr Wagner Publishing Company, 1921. xxv, 120p., scattered b&w period photography, hardbound 8x5.5 inch blue cloth boards titled black. Cloth has picked up handling soil, wear to rims and a small stain at the head; text, on semi-glazed paperstock is excellent except for a binder's error, namely that the lower edge is insufficiently trimmed so many leaves must be opened after the manner of continental book production. A good-only copy.

The author states that he took a post as a surgeon for a company operating a platinum mine in Chocó. Includes numerous stories about travelers (one who claims to be the brother of the bestselling author Marie Corelli), dangers encountered on the journey, and meetings with local Afro-Colombian and indigenous peoples. Part of a series of adventure stories advertised that take place in U.S. national parks, Florida, and the Congo. Date of publication from latest date mentioned in the text. WorldCat lists only one location as of May 2023.

Covers have a few short marginal tears (inconspicuous), a faint touch or two of offset soil, quite sound, otherwise clean, and entirely unmarked. FYI, little or no speculation here about the upcoming Olympics.

Hardcover. 192p., first edition green cloth boards gilt in glossy printed wraps; entirely clean and sound, a near-fine copy that is inscribed on the ffep by the author to friends, signing herself as "Terry," datelined 1981. Softbound, stapled into 8.5x6.5 inch wraps with a simple decoration. Mild edgewear with a couple of marginal tears and short tears at the staplings, inscribed and signed across the titlepage. Covers slightly dust-soiled, a good (good-only) copy. FYI, the photos (not polaroids) are not expertly-shot, show an amateur wall hanging, and author's wife on a camel.

[19]p., of b&w plates picturing Auckland architecture, aerial landscapes, and recreational activities, sewn binding; wraps are mildly soiled and somewhat edgeworn, second page plate folds out into four panels displaying a landscape photograph, however, two of the three creases contain 1 inch tears, else in good condition. Tourist Series No. 29.

Hardcover. xviii, 381p. plus publisher's menu, presswork on glazed alkaline paperstock, illustrated with profuse captioned b&w site and portrait photos throughout a running text, front endsheets occupied by a doublespread Rand McNally map of Oceania, in colors. Hardbound in 9x6 inch dark green cloth boards gilt, top edge gilded, a small but massive item. Frontis portrait of Boyce is halfway detached, but in all other respects is sound, clean, free of any markings. In this period a number of books attest a deep curiosity between America and Australia, and equally strong commercial interests.
