About This Item

Sydney: Vintage / Random House, 2004. Reprint ed.. Paperback trade, very good condition, black & white & colour photos, maps, spine little creased, pages lightly toned as common, minor edgewear. 335 pp. Michelle Grattan, a journalist, re-traces the footsteps of C. E. W. Bean, who in 1909 wrote a series of articles on the wool industry in western New South Wales (NSW), which became an Australian classic book. She revisits the Wool Track, including Gunnedah, Bourke and Broken Hill, and paints a vivid picture of the people in outback Australia today.
