Geoffrey Cumberlege/Oxford University Press, London, 1953. First Edition. Hardcover. Good/Poor. Illustrator: P. A. Jobson. The text is illustrated with four full-page black-and-white illustrations and numerous small vignettes throughout the text by P. A. Jobson. Blue coloured cloth boards with dark purple coloured titles to the backstrip. A little rubbing and minor bumping to the backstrip edges and rubbing to the book corners. There has been loss of colour to various parts of the book panels, as this small spots of bleach have landed on the panels. Light browning to the text block edges and to the internal text. Illustrated dustwrapper, by P. A. Jobson, with white and black coloured titles to the front panel and backstrip. Rubbing and chipping, with loss, to the dustwrapper corners and to the backstrip edges. Heavy rubbing to all dustwrapper edges. There is a small piece missing from the top left-hand corner of the front dustwrapper panel. Rubbing to the dustwrapper panels and the rear dustwrapper has also become quite yellowed and shows handling marks. Clipping of the dustwrapper, front fold over, lower right-hand corner. In this book Sam Maclellan has joined the crew of the largest ocean liner --Bagodia. Along with the normal adventures of working on a large ocean liner, there is not the inconsiderable factor of one of Sam's oldest enemies, Jack Cromwell, working on the ship as a cook. Jack has a side order of smuggling cooking between England and America and it's up to Sam and others to put cease to this activity. Size: 12mo (standard paperback). VIII, 184 pages, last page blank..
