Original boards with illustrated dust-wrappers (not price-clipped); pp. 127, full-page illustrations after drawings, light marginal flaws to wrappers, otherwise near-fine. First edition, very rare, of these impressions ('seventeen breezy stories of six men in a boat' - inside flap) of life aboard a river patrol vessel, 1940-41. The Royal Naval Auxiliary Patrol operated vessels throughout the war, mainly on the busy eastern part of the River.
